Pompeu Fabra University’s Education Abroad Programme has obtained quality recognition from the Forum on Education Abroad, an American non-profit association assuring quality and good practice in this field

The recognition includes all academic programmes of the University’s EAP: Hispanic and European Studies (HESP), Legal Studies, Global Health, STEM, International Business (ESCI), International Relations (IBEI), Experiential Learning, and UPF Barcelona Summer School, as well as various customized projects carried out each year for foreign universities.

Almost thirteen years after its foundation, the UPF Education Abroad Programme has grown in number of students but also in the diversification and increased wealth of the courses available, which now cover all areas of knowledge of the University and involves faculty from all of them.

The QUIP recognition obtained confirms that the academic and teaching quality of the EAP and its management comply with the best practices in the field and is an external, objective recognition that adds to the confidence of the institutions that entrust us with their students.

With the recognition of the Quality Improvement Program of the Forum on Education Abroad, UPF’s EAP becomes the first (and today, the only) university-hosted programme in Spain to obtain this quality distinction. In addition, it becomes established as a benchmark programme in Europe, along with the University of Limerick and the Freie Universität Berlin, which have also earned the same distinction.

The Forum on Education Abroad, of which UPF is a member, includes centres and universities in the US and from all over the world, agencies, third-party providers and foundations. Its activity focuses on the development and application of standards of good practice for the benefit of the students involved, and provides educational programmes and resources to its members.
