UPF has received 4,305 first-choice applications, a figure which gives a demand:supply ratio of 1.8, almost two applications per available place.

UPF, with regard to its integrated studies is offering 2,405 new places for the 2019-2020 academic year, for which 4,305 applications have been made, giving a demand:supply ratio of 1.8, practically two applications for every place on offer. 

19 of the 29 undergraduate courses given by UPF (65.5%) have a higher cut-off grade than 9 (the maximum score is 14), one more than last year, which reinforces the idea that students are increasingly achieving higher cut-off marks to enter the University. Three of these bachelor’s degrees are among the 10 that have the highest cut-off marks in the Catalan university system: Philosophy, Politics and Economics, with 12.888, is ranked third, and Medicine, taught jointly with the UAB, with 12.648, ninth.

It is notable that the bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics is the only qualification in the fields of the humanities and political and social sciences in the top ten cut-off marks for the Catalan university system, which is led by the UAB’s bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics with 13.418.

Another five UPF bachelor’s degrees have a cut-off mark higher than 12: International Business Economics (12.436); Global Studies (12.272); the double degree in Law + Business Administration/Economics (12.112); Biomedical Engineering (12.085), and Industrial Technologies and Economic Analysis (UPC-UPF) (12.024).

Regarding affiliated centres, the cut-off grades have remained quite stable compared to last academic year, and 11 have a cut-off grade higher than 5. Physiotherapy (ECS-Tecnocampus) (9.358) is the study with the highest cut-off mark, followed by International Business and Marketing (ESCI) (9.218), and the Nursing degrees taught at Hospital del Mar (8.479) and Mataró (8.180).

Overall, first-choice applications to the University have decreased slightly (268 fewer applications) and evenly. The most coveted first-choice bachelor’s degrees are: Law (472); Medicine (364); Business Management and Administration (364); Advertising and Public Relations (312); International Business Economics (281); Audiovisual Communication (248); Economics (228); the double degree in Law + Business Administration/Economics (205); Business Sciences-Management (191); and Labour Relations (176).
