ORTIZ BELTRAN, ARIEL
Ariel Ortiz is a Ph.D. student in the Interactive and Distributed Technologies for Education (TIDE) Group at the Information and Communication Technologies Department of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), in Barcelona.
He received his BSc in Systems Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (2012) and his Master in Multimedia Creation from Universitat Ramón Llull (2015).
He has eight years of experience working with enterprise software development teams, four years working as an assistant professor and researcher at the Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga, and as a methodological consultor for the transit institute INTRANS from the Universidad de Valencia. Also, he worked for three years as Data Scientist & Data Architect at promising entrepreneurships in Colombia.
In 2020 he graduated with honors from the Data Science for All (DS4A) program, an alliance between the Colombian TICs Ministry and Correlation One. He has contributed to publications in the fields of Education and Gamification. In addition, he acts as a reviewer of PLOS ONE journal and the European Journal of Psychology Applied to Legal Context.
