Facilitating transition to digital learning, CLOSER - TIDE new ERASMUS+ project

The COVID-19 lockdown impacted every aspect of our lives, including teaching and learning practices. The emergency of the health outbreak encouraged many educators to improvise methods and resources to reach their students. While existing online tools assisted teachers and students to comply with distance education, the lack of repositories made digital learning challenging. To provide more centralized teaching and learning resources and peer-to-peer cooperation, the new ERASMUS+ project CLOSER aims at closing the digital divide for emergency remote teaching.

From February 2022 till January 2024, the TIDE research group joins efforts to researchers and educators from Italy, Turkey and Spain to conduct the Erasmus+ project CLOSER, Closing the Gap between Smart Learning and Emergency Remote Teaching (2021-1-IT02-KA220-SCH-000030198). The CLOSER project aims at achieving its objectives through research and development of activities to provide educators with innovative, digital pedagogies, a community of practice, and a platform to support open educational practices. The ultimate goal of the project is to improve the quality of education providing equal opportunities for personal development for all European citizens.

The project consortium is integrated by the universities of Foggia (Italy), Bitlis Eren (Turkey), and Pompeu Fabra (Spain), the teachers’ Association Rosa Sensat, the publishing house Octaedro, and the institutions Wonderful Education and Santa Chiara in Italy.
