Biography note

Born in barcelona on 1960. Obtained a Degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1983. MdPhd by the University of Barcelona in 1987. Phd with distinction in 1988.

Specialist in General and Digestive Surgery since 1993.

Associated Human Anatomy professor in the Human Anatomy Department of the Barcelona University from 1984 to 1995.

Tenure Professit in the Surgery Area of the Pompeu Fabra University from September 1998 to 2008.

Tenure professor of the Anatomy and Embriology area of the Pompeu Fabra University from October 2008 up to now.

General Surgery Consultant in Sant Pau and Santa Tecla Hospital in Tarragona from 1995 to 1998.

General Surgery Consultant in the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona from 2002 up to now. Responsible of Abdominal Wall Surgery from the Digestive System General Surgery Service  in the Hospital del Mar, Barcelona.

Médico Adjunto de Cirugía General en el Hospital de Sant Pau i Santa Tecla de Tarragona entre 1995 y 1998.

Has published several articles in international and national journals, among them, British Journal of Surgery, Annals of Surgery, Surgery, World Journal of Surgery, Hernia, Langenbecks Archives of Surgery, Archives of Surgery and Medical Education.

National Surgery Award from the Spanish Association of Surgeons in 2006.

Member of the anatomic Spanish Society, the Catalan Surgery Society and the Spanish association of Surgeons.
