Presentation at the first SOMMA Gender event in CNIO

On October 29th we had the first gender event of the network of Severo Ochoa and María de Maeztu centers at the National Center on Cancer Research (CNIO), as part of the working groups we are pushing in this context (together with BCAM around Open Science, where we had the first SOMMA Open Science Day in April, and together with ICTA-UAB and CNIO on gender).

The first action in the group was to carry out a basic survey (the survey can be found here) around Equality Plans in the network of centers to identify possible areas of discussion among centers. For this purpose, CNIO hosted the event in the context of their Women in Science Seminars where, in collaboration with the British Embassy, we had a very complete program, including a presentation by Cheryl Smyther (video), presentations by different centers in the network (we provided an overview on our Gender and ICT program)  and final remarks by Ana Puy, director of the Women in Science office at the Ministry of Science, Universities and Innovation.

The slides on the survey carried out and presented by Aurelio Ruiz in this workshop are available here.

A chronicle of the event by the SOMMA team can be found here.
