Application, enrolment and fees

STEP 1. APPLICATION     *Deadline: Applications will be accepted until June 1*

Applicants should apply online directly to UPF:

A) UPF students (non Global Cities) should send us their application materials by mail at (barcelonasummerschool@upf.edu) within the application period. 

B)    Non-UPF students:

  • Students looking to attend through a programme provider (see list of programme providers here) should contact their advisors at the programme provider to apply.

 For application evaluation purposes, please upload the documents listed below, in electronic format, before June 1: 

  • Proof of sufficient Spanish (for English speakers) or  English (for Spanish speakers) language skills, as established in admission requirements
  • Copy of passport. 
  • Copy of proof of health insurance coverage for entire stay in Barcelona / at UPF. 
  • Passport-sized photograph.


STEP 2. ADMISSION

After reviewing the aforementioned documentation, UPF will inform each student who has applied on an individual basis of its decision. Accepted students will be sent detailed instructions regarding enrolment and payment.


STEP 3. ENROLMENT

Students must enrol for courses and make the corresponding credit card payment online before their arrival at UPF (until June 1).

  • All students must enrol for at least one subject-specific (non-language) course. 
  • Admission to courses is subject to the availability of places, which will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. 
  • Enrolment on the programme involves participation in all its academic activities. Fees include all aspects of the applicable scheduled special activities (i.e. trips led by teaching staff, plus the corresponding transport). 

 

Step 4. ADD & DROP

Students may attend two sessions of their chosen subjects before making their final enrolment choices during the add/drop session. Again, changes to enrolment options will be subject to the availability of places. After the add/drop session, enrolment will be deemed finalized and no further changes will be admitted or processed. There is no cancellation policy, and no refunds will be provided for any reason at this stage.

- Students' credits will be added to their certificate upon successful completion of programme courses and payment of the fee applicable to credits for the current academic year.

- Students attending through an external programme provider should arrange tuition payment therewith rather than paying UPF directly.

 Once completed the program, students must  pay UPF course credit recognition fees  directly to their faculty.




CANCELLATION FEE

A cancellation fee will be applied to those students who cancel their stay at UPF once they have been pre-registered at UPF and given access to UPF facilities (student cards, login and passwords for computers, access to the library, etc.). This fee will be waived if the cancellation is due to a case of force majeur, such as a medical issue or any urgent matter that requires the student to return to his/her home country.

Pre-registration period goes from the student's acceptation at the UPF to the add/drop day. Once all students have been able to make changes to their registrations, which will take place on the add/drop day, their schedules are considered final. Thus, any student who cancels his/her stay after the add/drop day of the corresponding term will pay for the whole registration.
