  • ENGAGE: Equipping the Next Generation for Active Engagement in Science. The key to engaging the next generation to participate in scientific issues is to change how science is taught. Students gain an image of science as a body of content whereas RRI deals with uncertain areas of knowledge is uncertain, where values and argument matter as much as facts. The shift is hugely challenging. High stakes education systems marginalise teaching about the nature of science. The greater challenge is to help teachers develop the beliefs, knowledge and classroom practice for RRI teaching. From 2014-01-01 to 2017-03-31, ongoing project

  • Inspiring Science: Large Scale Experimentation Scenarios to Mainstream eLearning in Science, Mathematics and Technology in Primary and Secondary Schools. The Inspiring Science Education project will design, plan and implement large-scale pilots to stimulate and evaluate innovative use of existing eLearning tools and resources (e.g. interactive simulations, educational games, VR and AR applications, modeling and data analysis tools, eScience applications, as well as, digital resources from research centres, science centres and museums) for scientific disciplines and technology, enhancing science learning in 5,000 primary and secondary schools in 15 European Counties. From 2013-04-01 to 2016-07-31, closed project

  • Irresistible:Including Responsible Research and innovation in cutting Edge Science and Inquiry-based Science education to improve Teacher's Ability of Bridging Learning Environments.  In the project IRRISITIBLE partners work together to make young people more aware about Responsible Research and Innovation issues. Universities and science centres will cooperate in the project using the expertise they have in linking formal land informal learning. For a long term effect the project focusses on teacher training. From 2013-11-01 to 2016-10-31, ongoing project.

  • SAILs:Strategies for Assessment of Inquiry Learning in Science.  The aim of this proposal is to support teachers in adopting inquiry based science education (IBSE) at second level (students aged 12-18 years) across Europe. From 2012-01-01 to 2015-12-31, closed project.

  • SciChallenge. Next Generation Science Challenges Using Digital and Social Media to Make Science Education and Careers Attractive for Young People. The SciChallenge project focuses on developing novel concepts to actively integrate young boys and girls in science education using a contest-based approach to self-produced digital education materials from young people for young people. From 2015-09-01 to 2017-08-31, ongoing project

  • Scientix 2. The objective of this Scientix 2 proposal is twofold. On the one hand to ensure the continuation/adaptation of the successful current Scientix activities (already managed by EUN Partnership aisbl on behalf of DG Research & Innovation under the Science and Society programme); on the other, to enhance communication and community-building, and help support the development of national strategies for wide uptake and dissemination of inquiry-based science and maths education (IBSME), and other science education methods. From 2013-01-01 to 2016-03-31, closed project
