Standing in the middle of a plain and irrigated by two tributaries of the river Ter (the Gurri and the Mèder), the city of Vic invites us to rediscover its past through some extraordinary buildings. You cannot miss the ancient Roman temple, the walls of king Pere III el Cerimoniós, the remains of Montcada's castle, the Town Hall built in 1388, and the Cathedral. Amongst the manors dating back to the 15th to the 18th century, we find Casa de Ramon Sala i Saçala, Casa Cortada and Casa Mas Ferrer; and amongst the houses in Art Nouveau style, Casa Ricart and Casa Colomer are worth mentioning. Mercadal Square -where you will find from fruit to the finest, traditional, porcine specialities- lends colour to the urban layout of Vic on those days when the street market is held.
