In accordance with current regulations governing the prices of the academic services of the public universities of Catalonia, Pompeu Fabra University's -Economic and Promotion Committee- of the Board of Trustees, by agreement of 22 November 2006, established that the University shall apply the maximum price differential allowed by the regulations for foreign, non-resident students who are not nationals of EU members states, with regard to official postgraduate programmes regulated by Royal Decree 56/2005, dated 21 January.
In order for this price differential not to suppose an impediment to follow official postgraduate teachings, for those students with an extraordinary academic performance, a scholarship programme is established for foreign, non-resident students who are not nationals of EU member states of official postgraduate programmes:
First.- 40 scholarships will be awarded, in each academic year, for non-resident foreign students who are not nationals of EU member states to which the price differential is applicable and who are pursuing official postgraduate studies at UPF.
Second.- Of these 40 scholarships, 15 will entitle the student to a discount of 75% on the price differential and 25 will have a 50% discount.
Third.- The scholarships shall be awarded for an academic year and may be renewed for a further year when the official master's being followed by the scholarship holder is a two year course.
Four.- The requirements for eligibility to apply for such scholarships are as follows:
- Be subject to compulsory payment of the price differential.
- Be admitted to an official master's degree taught by Pompeu Fabra University.
- In order to get a discount of 75% on the price differential, candidates shall have an academic transcript showing excellent performance placing the candidate among the top 50% of files assessed in the master's for the academic year in question.
- Register during the academic year to which the scholarship is applicable for all of the credits established by the syllabus, in full time mode.
Five.- The scholarship application shall be presented, via the standard form, during the period extending from notification of admission to the master's degree to the formalisation of the registration.
Six.- The competent administrative service that handles the scholarships shall share the scholarships out among the official postgraduate programmes in accordance with the number of applications presented that meet the requirements established in section four.
Seven.- Each department shall present a proposal for the awarding of the scholarships to the competent vice-rectorate for postgraduate matters taking into account the scaling of the academic transcript. The decisions taken shall be made public on the electronic means of which the university disposes.
Eight.- Once the call has been settled, the university shall make payment of the corresponding amounts to the scholarship students.
Nine.- These scholarships, including the amount received to cover the registration fee, shall not be compatible with any other aid or scholarship, whether awarded by a public or a private body or organ.
