Curricula :
Born in Manresa in 1968. He is a full professor in the Department of Information and
Communication Technologies, where he has been a lecturer since 2008. He graduated in
Telecommunications Engineering from the UPC (1992) and holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from
Stanford University (1999). Before joining UPF, he was a researcher at Bell Labs (1999-2008) and an
adjunct lecturer at Columbia Unive
rsity (2005-2008). His research focuses on mobile
communications. He is editor of the journal
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory and is a member of the
Board of Governors of the Communications Society of the
Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE)
, the world's leading association of professional engineers. He has been a member of
standardization committees for mobile systems, holds fifteen patents and has received several
prizes, including the ICREA Academy award (2011). He has been a visiting professor at Cambridge
University, the University of Texas at Austin, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Stanford
University and the University of Minnesota. |
