Nota Biografica :

Lousie McNally

Born in the United States in 1965. Full Professor in the UPF's Department of Translation and Language Sciences and a member of the Linguistics Research Unit. Holds a PhD from the University of California in Santa Cruz (1992). Before joining the UPF in 1995 she worked at the University of Indiana, the University of Ohio and the University of California in San Diego. Her speciality is the study of the semantics of natural language. She has represented Spain in the Social Sciences and Humanities Roadmap Working Group of the European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures and participated in research evaluation processes at the all-Spain and European levels. She was awarded the Distinction of the Generalitat de Catalunya for the Promotion of University Research (2003) and the Catalan Institute for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA) Acadèmia prize (2009).
