Born in Barcelona in 1958. Professor of Philosophy of the Department of Humanities at UPF. Doctor in Philosophy by the UAB (1984). After 15 years at the UAB, he has taught the History of Ideas at UPF since 1995. Lecturer of the Department of Philosophy at the UAB (1980-1995). Director of the Barcelona Institute of Humanities. He has also been a lecturer at the París VII University (Denis Diderot), vice-rector for Postgraduate and Doctoral studies at UPF, dean of the UPF Faculty of Humanities, director of the Department of Philosophy at the UAB, co-director of the journal L’Avenç and collaborator and member of the editorial board of several international scientific collections dealing with Renaissance literature. He has translated and edited works by Montaigne, Montesquieu, Berkeley and Bergson and is the author of the books entitled La filosofia de Montaigne, L’experiment d’Aristòtil and El pou de la paraula.
