Professor Willem E. Saris was recently awarded the prestigious World Association of Public Opinion Research's (WAPOR) "Helen Dinerman Award" in recognition to his extensive contributions to the fields of public opinion research and development of survey research methods.

The importance of this award is evident in the list of persons who have been granted it in previous years, which includes renowned academics such as Juan Linz (1993), Seymour Martin Lipset (1997), Phillip E. Converse (2003), Sidney Verba (2004) or Roger Jowell (2005).
