The UPF Study Abroad Program works on widening the range of study abroad opportunities that the University can provide to international students.
Conceived as an Honors program, Independent Research Projects will enhance students’ in-depth knowledge of topics in their areas of interest. Supervised by prestigious UPF faculty, students will develop their research skills and contribute to the collaborative academic work between faculty from their sending institution and UPF faculty.
Each student will propose a project to be approved by his/her academic advisors at the home institution. Then, he/she will be matched to a UPF tutor who will direct the student’s research while in Barcelona. Weekly meetings with the tutor will provide time for the assessment of the students understanding of the guidelines set the student’s independent work. The Independent Research project will ensure 24 contact hours of tutoring along with the student’s independent working hours. In addition, the student will be awarded 5 ECTS (normally 3 US Credits)
