These 30-hour courses are made up of 15 hours of class contact time and 15 hours of guided independent study and provide comprehensive preparation for the different levels of the Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE). These are the only officially recognized qualifications indicating levels of proficiency in the Spanish language and are awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science through the Spanish Government's cultural organization, the Instituto Cervantes.
The Programa d'Ensenyament d'Idiomes is an official examination centre for this qualification for both examination periods (November / May). This enables students to both take the preparation course and register for and sit the examination.
Before the start of the course, students will attend a consultation session (2013) with the teaching staff in order to decide the most appropriate level of study.

The annual dates and fees for the DELE examinations are set by the Instituto Cervantes. Final date and fees have yet to be fixed and as such, the information given is a guideline which may be subject to minor modifications.
