Lastly, students who have obtained an overall excellent with honours for COU pre-university studies will need to submit their schooling book along with a photocopy of the pages where the overall excellent with honours distinction for COU pre-university studies is recorded.

Scope.

Exemption from payment for registration may entail various repercussions according to the sections mentioned in the previous point and will encompass all credits for which the student registers, provided they do not exceed the total study volume for the degree or diploma the student follows, in accordance with academic regulations approved by the University.

a) The circumstance of a large family with between 7 and 9 children (2nd category) and with 10 or more children (honorary category) will entitle the student to exemption from fees for all credits and courses, regardless of the number of times the student has applied for registration, as well as exemption from administrative fees.

b) The circumstance of a large family with between 3 and 6 children (1st category) will entitle the student to partial exemption from fees for all credits, regardless of the number of times the student has applied for registration, as well as from administrative fees.

c) Scholarship holding students covered by the general system will be exempt from all fees for courses and credits for which they have registered, in accordance with the regulations governing the application for scholarships for the respective academic year, and will be required to pay administrative fees in full.

d) Students holding scholarships from other organisations will be entitled to exemption from fees for the first academic year and when they register for the first time; they too will be required to pay administrative fees in full.

e) Students who achieve an overall excellent with honours for COU pre-university studies will be entitled to exemption from fees for the first academic year and when they register for the first time; they too will be required to pay administrative fees in full.

2. EDUCATION INSURANCE

All students will pay the fee for education insurance on the day when the formalise registration, provided they are under 28 years of age and they are Spanish or nationals from foreign countries with which the university has an agreement.

The countries with which the university has an agreement are: Andorra, Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Guinea, Haiti, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Portugal, Syria, the USA, and all countries in Latin America.

3. EXCELLENT WITH HONOURS

Any excellent with honours grades achieved during the first exam sitting for an academic year will, for the purposes of the above, apply to the following academic year for courses and credits for which the student registers for the first time.

An excellent with honours achieved at other universities or for programmes of study not taught at Pompeu Fabra University will not apply.

4. VALIDATIONS

Students who have validated credits at the time of registering will pay 25% of the fees for validated courses or credits.

If a student has both validated and non-validated credits for the same academic year, calculation of the financial payment due will be carried out as follows: once the total sum for 25% of all validated credits has been calculated, the fees for non-validated credits will be added.

If a student registers without a resolution having been adopted regarding the application for validation, the student in question may not under any circumstance benefit from the reduced fee of 25%.

5. REIMBURSEMENTS

Cancellation of registration will not entitle the student to a reimbursement for the sum paid.

The last day for claiming for reimbursements for registration fees, by means of a scholarship award or payments to the student, will be 31 May.

6. OTHER FEES

Only students who are members of large families will be entitled to benefit from exemption from payment of these fees either in full or in part.

- Authenticated copy.
- Certification.
- PhD dissertation.
- University entrance exams.
- Issuance of degree qualifications.

7. PAYMENT IN INSTALMENTS

Payment of published registration prices may be made in one lump sum at the start of the academic year, or rather in two equal instalments, the first of which will be paid upon formalising registration and the second shall be paid during the second half of December. Failure to make payment for these instalments will automatically give rise to cancellation of registration, without the entitlement to any reimbursement whatsoever.

ADDITIONAL PROVISION

It is incumbent on the vice-rector for economy and administration to establish the criteria for circumstances by which students are entitled to partial or full exemption from payment of registration fees, as stipulated in the decree determining the prices for the provision of academic university services.
