UPF Genomics Core Facility was created in 1999 to give service to the research community with the most updated technology for DNA study in a joined effort.
Currently, researchers working with our facility exceed the number of 400 with a weekly increasing rate.
We provide a large variety of methods to work with DNA and RNA samples. Recently the facility has acquired two ultra-sequencers or next-generation sequencers, a 454 GS Junior from Roche (2011) and a MiSeq from Illumina (2012), both are fully working. However, Sanger sequencing and real-time PCR genotyping continue to be the techniques most required by our users so far.
