Contingut
The main goal of this course is to develop the
student's knowledge of the basic grammatical and semantic properties
of the verb phrase and the noun phrase in English, while analysing
their functions in English descriptive and narrative texts.

1: Noun and noun phrase: structural properties and distribution.
Week
3: Noun and noun phrase: semantic features and function in discourse.
Week
4: Adjectives and adjectival phrases: modification.
Week
5: Pro-forms:
typology and structural properties.
Week 6:
Pro-forms: function and distribution in discourse.
Week
7: Basic features of the verbal group.
Week
8: Tense. English simple and future tenses.
Week
9: The progressive and aspectual classes (perfectivity, stativity,
duration, habitualness).
Week
10: The perfect tenses: anteriority and other features.
Avaluació
Tasques fetes durant el curs: (30%) i examen final (70%).
