Contingut
The goal of this course is to introduce students to the basic clause
structure in English, both from a syntactic and a functional perspective,
while analysing them in use in written texts for different language
functions.

Week 1: General framework for the study of clause structure
Week 2: Syntactic characterization of clause structure I
Week 3: Syntactic characterization of clause structure II
Week 4: Simple and multiword verbs
Week 5: Syntax and Semantics of Intransitive Verbs
Week 6: Syntax and Semantics of Copular Verbs
Week 7: Syntax and Semantics of Monotransitive Verbs
Week 8: Syntax and Semantics of Ditransitive Verbs
Week 9: Syntax and semantics of Complex transitive verbs
Week 10: Causatives and perception verbs. Saying and existing.
