Presentation

The medium of television is undergoing a process of profound change. The leap from analogue to digital TV will mean, on the one hand, a significant increase in the number of channels, with the subsequent need for new professionals and, on the other, it will bring a new concept to the production, broadcasting and reception of television, which in turn will require new expertise and skills.

Objectives

Rapid development in the audiovisual industry has brought about the need for a high degree of specialisation, and hence this programme aims to train television professionals to a high degree of expertise in this medium and to gain an understanding of the main professional functions of television.

This master's degree places special emphasis on two essential factors of excellence in television: innovation and quality. With this aim, students will analyse in depth new trends and formats and the knowledge of models of television and programmes that stand out due to their quality. To achieve these objectives, the master's degree has the active participation of Catalan public television channel, TV3, which contributes by providing its facilities, its prestigious professionals and the management of practical classes.

Students will demonstrate the level of competency they have acquired by carrying out a final project, which consists of a comprehensive exercise in creativity, as well as a practical training in contents production in accordance with quality, innovation and efficiency criteria.
