Presentation

Beyond its industrial dimension, the cinematographic and audiovisual phenomenon represents one of the most relevant, shaping aspects of contemporary culture.

The master's degree in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies must provide students with excellent training in the field of audiovisual culture opening up career possibilities based on research, such as those that may be needed by institutions, teaching centres, film libraries, art centres, festivals and publishing houses related with the audiovisual sector.

Objectives

This master's degree aims to enable students to acquire the solid, critically contrasted knowledge needed to be able to embark on research within the area of cinema studies related with contemporary audiovisuals. A look back at tradition so as to be able to interpret the current audiovisual panorama is one of the key aspects that will allow students to formulate their working hypotheses around the present and the future of audiovisuals in our times.

This master's degree aims to provide the necessary capacity to be able to proceed to elaborate a doctoral thesis.

Tracks

There are no tracks, but students must take 30 compulsory credits: 10 credits of methodological subjects and 20 credits for the execution of their research work. The remaining 30 credits are optional.
