Presentation

This master's degree is aimed at those with a degree in the field of social sciences who wish to make a start in the field of academic research in the discipline of political science, with the aim of going on to study a doctorate or extend their knowledge.

Objectives

The training of analysts and researchers in political science with sufficient capacity for independent work to apply current analysis techniques and methodologies in a productive manner and with the capacity to work in a team necessary to take part in research teams, study centres and analysis offices.

This general objective is sub-divided into four specific objectives:

Development of the necessary research skills to commence a doctorate programme in political science with guarantees of success.
Training of high-level researchers and analysts in the field of political sciences.
Training of specialities in the research areas of the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the UPF.
Development of innovative lines in the research areas of the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the UPF.
Development of general skills to improve the career possibilities of future holders of the master's degree.

Professional practice in political institutions and public authorities at state, autonomous community and local level and in the EU.
Business consulting in the private sector for companies that work with public organizations or on matters related to the public sector.
