Doctorate you can opt for on finishing the master: Economics, Finance and Business - PhD
Objectives
- To provide comprehensive training in essential theoretical and quantitative tools for undertaking research in economics, finance and business.
- To promote students' creativity and their ability to carry out independent research.
- To prepare students to continue their research in a doctorate or other specialisations.
Specializations
-
Specialisation in Economics
Due to their complexity and minute detail, many of the techniques that are frequently employed in advanced economic research are not covered in undergraduate courses. These techniques are too specific to be included on undergraduate courses. That's why it is best that this knowledge be covered in postgraduate courses.
-
Specialisation in Finance
Finance is perhaps the branch of economics where scientific breakthroughs are readily applied very swiftly. Constant breakthroughs in the field of asset valuation, investment management or corporate governance continuously transform financial reality. This specialised field therefore addresses the basic need to train students to enter a profession that is undergoing constant changes and to also prepare them for their doctorate research.
-
Specialisation in Business
This specialisation provides more in-depth and technical training than one normally receives in an MBA. The course objectives are twofold: on the one hand, to give students a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments in research and teaching, and on the other hand, to identify and train prospective candidates for doctorate research in business (in both UPF and in other universities).
