Any holder of a foreign qualification can apply for a place on a master's degree if they have previously validated their qualification to be equivalent to a master course entry-level qualification. Without validation, application can be made if it can be demonstrated that the qualification is equivalent to a Spanish degree qualification and that in the country in which it was awarded it provides access to postgraduate studies.
Admission to an official master course does not, in itself, represent the validation or recognition of a previous qualification, but once the course has been successfully completed the master qualification thereby obtained will have full, official status.
Anyone in possession of the requirements mentioned in the previous two sections may be admitted by the governing body of the official postgraduate programme of the university in question, in accordance with the criteria established by each university. Officially, anyone can be accepted on a master course whether or not their previous university education is directly related to the course, but in effect, admission depends on the criteria applied by each university.
