Teaching Experience

I have taught English for 10 years in Spain, beginning in Gandía, Valencia before arriving in Barcelona eight years ago. A large part of my career as a teacher has been doing in-company business classes, preparing professionals for using English in their working life. Before coming to PEI, I also worked for several years at Barcelona’s Institut d’Estudis Nord Americans and as a head of studies for a private English academy franchise. Until recently, I also worked as a journalist for the local English language magazine, Catalonia Today.

What does teaching languages mean to you?

Teaching English has been an enjoyable and rewarding experience for me, one that continues to be a fascinating education in how languages work and how we learn new languages, as well as an opportunity which has allowed me to live in a city I love.
