Teaching Experience

I have been teaching English at various Language Schools since 1989, including Berlin School of English and the Akademie für Fremdsprachen in Berlin, where I lived from 1988 until 2005. Since 2005, I have lived in Barcelona, where I have worked at institutes like the City School, IKL, Interlog and L’Avanç School. From 2002 to 2007 I worked at the American Institute. I have been at the PEI since 2007. I also work as a translator for the magazine b-guided and various web pages.

What does teaching languages mean to you?

The thing I enjoy most about my job is the satisfaction of seeing how the students progress and the knowledge that I have played a role in that progress. I try to make my classes as dynamic as possible, as this makes them enjoyable for both the students and myself. By mixing up the kind of activity done during class time, hopefully the students find the time has been well spent and they have come away knowing a little bit more after each lesson. My reward is the fulfilment gained from helping them along the way.
