Short Biography

I started doing research in Natural Language Processing in 1994 through a continuous participation in research and development projects of the European Union Framework Program, several national projects, and research and technology transference contracts. I have worked at the Grup d’Investigació en Lingüística Computacional of the Universitat de Barcelona (gilcUB) (from 01-1994 until 03-1998, and from 05-1999 until 07-2004) and the Institut der Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Angewandten Informationsforschung e.V an der Universität des Saarlandes (IAI) (from 03-1998 until 05-1999). In December 2004, I joined the Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada (IULA) of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) after having been selected by the Juan de la Cierva programme of the Spanish Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia.
