I am a professor at the Department of Economics and Business at the Pompeu Fabra University. I am also the director of the Institut d'Estudis Territorials, the head of the Research Group in Logistics (GREL). Since I do not have too much work to do, I am also the vice-chancellor of my university, UPF.

Location theory and modeling in logistics is my general research topic. I am involved in the location of hubs, location of facilities in the presence of congestion, and competitive discrete location. I am also interested in operations management, metaheuristics and in combinatorial optimization. Another research area where I am involved is health care management with special emphasis in quantitative methods.
