CPC members reach 66.355 million by
June,2002

BEIJING, Nov.6 (Xinhuanet) -- By June this year, the Communist Party
of China (CPC) had had a total of 66.355 million members, 5.938 million more
than in 1997, according to the Organization Department of the CPC Central
Committee. Those under the age of 35 number 14.8 million, 22.3 percent of total
membership. Female members and those from ethnic minority groups number
11.598 million and 4.146 million respectively, 17.5 percent and 6.2 percent
