The Linguistic Voluntariate (Buddy Programme) is a welcome programme for foreign students entering UPF. With the dual objective of fostering the linguistic and cultural integration of these students and of promoting the internationalisation of Catalan students, throughout the academic year the Linguistic Voluntariate (Buddy Programme) organises a series of recreational and cultural activities as well as a language exchange programme (language pairs).
Below are the linguistic and terminological consultancy services offered by the Linguistics Department.
The Language Training Programme, which started in 1999, strives to provide the members of the UPF university community with the foreign language skills required for their academic and professional performance.
The Catalan Language Self-Training Service (SALC) offers members of the UPF university community the chance to expand and perfect their knowledge of the Catalan language on a flexible and individualised basis. The self-teaching material available on the Internet can also be used by anyone interested in learning Catalan.
The language acceptance tutoring for teaching staff is intended to provide new teaching staff at UPF with orientation on the language situation at our university (status of Catalan, rights and responsibilities, etc.), and to transmit an institutional message regarding language.
