Pompeu Fabra University took part, together with the other public universities in Catalonia, in a study of university students entitled Usos, actituds i identitats lingüístiques (Linguistic habits, attitudes and identities) which is presented here below.
The methodology employed in this study was based on quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results make it possible to explore various ways of encouraging the use of Catalan by university students and provide information for designing multilingual strategies within the new European higher education framework.
