The CQUID offers specialised language training to all UPF teaching and research staff. A priority objective for our university in the context of its Plan of Action for Multiculturalism, the Catalan government's criteria for university planning and the challenges posed by the new European Higher Education Area, is to promote third languages so as to foster and incentivise multilingualism in teaching and help teaching and research staff to improve their language skills, in particular in English and Catalan.
Since the University spends a lot of money to provide all the CQUID courses free of charge, we expect a strong commitment from those taking them to attend the classes and achieve a pass standard. Should you decide to drop out, we would be grateful if you would give us sufficient notice so that we can offer your place to other teaching staff who are interested.
