The university is pleased to offer students a linguistic wealth which is a reflection of our environment and which is made available through our own internal educational and support services and through access to public institutional platforms. In short, UPF is a multilingual Catalonian university with a clear international vocation. One of the goals it has set for itself consists of integrating and creating new communication spaces in the Catalonian academic environment and in society.
At UPF, Catalan —the university's official language— along with Spanish —co-official— and English are the languages par excellence for academic work and communication, as well as the vehicle for integrating the University in the European Higher Education Area and in other academic environments beyond Europe. In addition, French, German and other languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Russian can also be heard in the classrooms of our university. Our international students and teaching staff, which may include you, bring other languages from around the world to our university. This is our welcome message.
