All HESP courses are 45 hours (4 hours per week) except for the
Spanish language courses, which are 90 hours (12.5 hours per week during the first two weeks, and 6 hours a week until the end of the term). Classes usually have a maximum of 35 students (15 in language courses) and a minimum of 10.
HESP organizes courses at three different periods throughout the school year:
Fall semester: September-December
Spring semester: January-May
Summer program: June-July
The UPF academic year is divided into three terms. The first two of them correspond approximately to the HESP semesters, a fact that allows students to join both.
