The main objective of GRITIM-UPF during 2011 has been threefold. Firstly, to consolidate the projects and activities already functioning in 2010; secondly, to define new strategies of expansion and consolidate the established networks; thirdly, to develop the coherence of its actions at the knowledge transfer, training and research level, and define short and long term strategic actions.
In the area of research, the applications for two national projects were approved and GRITIM-UPF has entered the important IMISCOE Network and consolidated the Anna Lindh Foundation and Intercultural Cities networks.
With regards to teaching and training, we began the organization of the International Summer School with IMISCOE and the third edition of the Official Master in Immigration Management started in September. Moreover, GRITIM-UPF has been included in the CHE Ranking as an area of excellence in Political Science. In addition, the group has supported postdoctoral researchers applying for fellowships (Aliança 4 Universitats, Marie Curie, Ramón y Cajal), and has received visiting PhD candidates and supported visiting scholarships (US Fulbright Award).
Finally, concerning the knowledge transfer pillar, the group organised a monthly seminar series, an International Workshop together with CIDOB and IEMed, and the GRITIM-CIDOB annual call for papers, as well as a conference on Diversity Management among other events. Its distribution list has grown and the edition of the Working Papers Series has been consolidated.
