Published in 2008, the Catalan ↔ Spanish ↔ English UPF nomenclature is a working tool produced and maintained by the Language Office with the dual purpose of facilitating the work of translation into Spanish and into English of different names and designations of the university field in general and unifying criteria both within the university community and with external translators who cooperate with UPF in the translation of administrative and institutional documents.
The Catalan ↔ Spanish ↔ English UPF nomenclature includes over a thousand current and historic university-related names that are general in nature and specific to UPF (such as Espai Europeu d'Ensenyament Superior, Agència per a la Qualitat del Sistema Universitari de Catalunya, màster de recerca en Ciència Política, grau en Enginyeria Telemàtica, Taller de Creació d'Interactius Educatius i Culturals, Gabinet del Rectorat, Comissió Gestora or Comissió de Professorat, among many others), with their corresponding translations into Spanish and into English. Enquiries can be made in Catalan, Spanish or English, either according to alphabetical blocks or by means of the advanced search engine in the Nomenclature, by entering the word or phrase or any of the words it contains.
The most appropriate translations are proposed and are therefore the ones to be used primarily in the University's administrative and institutional fields.
