This short course is an introduction to Shakespeare's literary language. Its aim is to show how Shakespeare's use of rhetorical conventions of his time is central to his art. The following describes the content of each seminar:
1. Renaissance Eloquence and Rhetoric (lecture)
2. Rhetoric in Shakespeare's Sonnets (seminar): Sonnets 18, 73, 116, 138
3. Rhetoric of Persuasion in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar (seminar with video)
