Welcome from the Dean

Welcome to the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.  We try to get the maximum level of development of the students' both professional and personal skills. Our degrees take the first position in Spain regarding teaching quality, according to the ranking published by "El Mundo".

Our studies' strong points are:

1. - The extraordinary potential of our students which becomes clear in the University's Entrance Examinations (PAAU).

2. - The teaching staff, of more than 20 different nationalities, groundbreaking in the research worldwide, with the Economic and Business Department and the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, recognized as one of the European reference institutions.

3. - An active pedagogy which combines the Problem Based Learning methodology (PBL) with teamwork and the analysis' necessary precision (statistic, technical, econometric or mathematic).

4. - The possibility of taking up to 70% of the degree in English (100% in IBE degree). Besides, English is one of the requirements in the degrees, as between 3rd and 4th year, 30 ECTS credits in this language must be obtained.

5. - An exchange network with the best European, American and Asian Universities (190 exchange places available in 2010-11 for 350 students) and a high percentage of the subjects taught  in English.

These aspects clearly differentiate us from the training offer of other comparable institutions.

Our commitment is that all the students who decide to study their university degrees in our Faculty can develop their abilities to the utmost. This idea materializes in a series of opportunities which make the students motivated to be trained with an active attitude, using the Virtual Campus' tools for self-learning and all the possibilities offered by the UPF to do external internships and undertaking projects.

Please contact us to get further information about our training offer.
