Presentation

Teaching goals

  • To train graduates expert in the theoretical and practical spheres of audiovisual communication.
  • To promote critical, analytical and reflective abilities with regard to the audiovisual field, with technical and aesthetic knowledge of the forms, processes and trends in audiovisual communication in our milieu.
  • To provide thorough knowledge of the techniques and processes of audiovisual creation and dissemination in its various phases, and the interrelations between producers, institutions, businesses, media and recipients in the sector.
  • Graduates must be aware of the methodologies and concepts applicable in the various branches of research, development and innovation of audiovisual communication and future technological environments.

Description of the course

The UPF degree in Audiovisual Communication provides training of a general, plural and interdisciplinary nature on the various facets of expertise in film, television, radio, photographic and interactive art. The course combines theory and practice, and caters for a student profile aiming to master analysis and develop their creativity. For this reason, the teaching staff does not only include theoretical lecturers specialising in permanent teaching and research, but also professionals and artists who use workshops and seminars to pass on their practical knowledge. As a result, students obtain both in-depth knowledge of both overall audiovisual content and the specific challenges of creative activity.

Students must follow one track. Each track consists of at least 20 credits. The other optional credits - up to a total of 40 - can be taken by choosing from various subjects in the other tracks, from the same track or out-of-track.
