The Times Higher Education Rankings (THES) lists the world's 600 best centres for teaching and research together with the position held by each centre on a world, European and national level. According to the recently published classification for 2011, UPF has kept its place among the best universities throughout the world, coming in at numbers 186 worldwide and 77 in Europe. With regard to the Spanish universities, UPF holds first position.
UPF is, for the second time, among the top 500 universities in the world, according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2010. Concretely, UPF falls within the 301-400 bracket in the world ranking of top universities.

Always among the top ten Spanish universities in national rankings (University Quality Assessment, Informe CyD, El Mundo) (2009)
UPF is in 35th place on an international level according to the research ranking carried out by the Tilburg University (Netherlands), which is done on the basis of papers published in the most important journals of reference in the field of economics. It is considered the seventh best university in Europe and the best in the Spanish State.
UPF is part of the Excellence Group of the CHE-Excellence Ranking 2009, from among over a hundred European universities in whose master's and doctoral teachings give economics and political sciences subjects, among others.
