UPF research is oriented at the creation of new scientific knowledge which may benefit the human being: that improves our health, which provide keys for the interpretation of the world and to make it more governable, more just and more hospitable.

The generalised movement of students to universities throughout the world, the increase in foreign students attracted to UPF, the incorporation of top-level foreign lecturers and researcher and our active participation in international projects, networks and associations have all made UPF a leading university which is deeply committed to the international university panorama. To this end, we would like to point out that 43.63% of doctorate students are foreigners.

Currently, UPF is one of the principal universities in Spain with regard to the development and application of new information and communication technologies, in both the academic and the administrative areas.
The Library is the basic tool for teaching, research and learning tasks. Its users have bibliographic resources at their disposal in different formats, databases, external resources, interactive services, systematised guides to information resources that are organised according to areas of knowledge and, also, the best known Internet search engines and audiovisual and computer work stations.
We have computer rooms with long opening times and continuously updated software; there is a broad supply of self-learning resources; the Student Information Desk; accommodation services; the psychology advisory service; a team of people to give support for whatever you may need... are all examples of services and tools to help and support with studies and research which UPF makes available to its students and teachers.
