Vidal Coso, Elena

Nota biogràfica:

Elena Vidal Coso is Juan de la Cierva postdoc researcher (2011-2014) at the Socio-Demography Group in the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She obtained the degree in Sociology (University of Barcelona) in 2001 and the postgraduate course on 'Methods and Techniques for Demographic Analysis' at the Centre for Demographic Studies (Autonomous University of Barcelona) in 2002. She gained in 2003 the 'Marie Curie' scholarship and moved to the Cathie Marsh Centre for Census and Survey Research (University of Manchester) and received the MA of Science in Social Research Methods and Statistics. In 2004 she returned to the Centre for Demographic Studies and obtained her PhD in Demography in 2009 on the topic 'Labour and Socio-demographic complementarity between immigrant and non-immigrant women in Spain'.

From 2004 to 2009 she has worked at the Centre for Demographic Studies (CED) as a researcher in several projects on female labour supply, on the dilemmas of reconciliation between family and work and on the impact of international migration in the Spanish labour market. She joined the Socio-Demography Group in the University Pompeu Fabra in 2011 and her current research interests are the dynamics of labour supply and integration in the employment structure of female immigrants, and the intra-household specialization of immigrant families.
