Viejo Viñas, Raimundo

Studies and academic degrees:

Visiting Professor at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona. Former professor at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (USC, 2000-2002) and Université de Lausanne, Switzerland (UNIL, 2003-2004), where he taught undergraduate courses like "The Spanish Political System in Comparative Perspective", "Political Culture and Participation", "Comparative Politics", and "History of International Affairs", as well as the PhD class "The European Union after Nice".

Raimundo Viejo obtained his BA in Geography and History (1992), his graduate degree in Contemporary History (1994), and his PhD in Political Science (2001) at the University of Santiago de Compostela. His PhD dissertation was awarded the 2001 Outstanding Award.

He undertook graduate research at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität, Frankfurt am Main (1993-1994), and at the Humboldt-Universität, Berlin (1998-1999), and has been a grantee of the Galician Government-sponsored Centro Ramón Piñeiro para a Investigación en Humanidades (1995-1998) and of the Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza (1989-1999).
