Studies and academic degrees:
Currently I am Profesor Visitante (tenure track) in Political Theory at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Department of Social and Political Sciences (Barcelona, Spain). In 2007-2008 I was a Lecturer in Political Theory at University College Dublin, School of Politics and International Relations. In February 2008 I defended my PhD on "Democracy, Rhetoric and Decision" at the European University Institute (supervisors: Peter Wagner and Axel Honneth). I have also taught at Richmond College (Florence), at the European University Institute (Florence), and at the University of Bucharest. My teaching centered on political philosophy, models of democracy, history of political thought and international political theory, etc. I have had contracts of collaborations with various European universities and institutes.
I have published in quarterlies such as the "Journal of Political Philosophy" and the "European Journal of Political Theory." I co-edited Law, State and Religion in the New Europe: Conflicts and Dilemmas with Lorenzo Zucca, (Cambridge University Press, 2012), From the Nation-State to the Postnational Constellation: Jϋrgen Habermas' Theory of Law and Democracy, vol. I-II, Ashgate, 2011 with Klaus Gϋnther and Christian Joerges. I also edited Religion in Democracy: a Dilemma of Modernity (Polirom, 2011).
At present, I am working on a book on "Democratic Theory and Religion" (under contract with Routledge, 2012). I am also working on a project on politics, law and religion in Europe (with Ferran Requejo) and on religion and European cinema (with Costica Bradatan).
