Nota Biografica
My main fields of interest are comparative political economy and authoritarian politics. I'm currently working of a book manuscript with Joseph Wright (Penn State University), Foreign Pressure and the Politics of Authoritarian Survival, in which we analyze how international pressure -in the form of foreign aid conditionality, economic sanctions, shaming campaigns, prosecutions and military interventions - influence domestic politics in authoritarian countries, namely, the likelihood of ruler and regime change.
My research has been published in the British Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, Journal of Peace Research, International Studies Quarterly, Democratization, International Political Science Review, European Journal of Political Research, Constitutional Political Economy, Kyklos, among others.
