UPF scientific output includes research activities (projects, research contracts, grants), publications (journal articles, books, book chapters, working papers), congresses, PhD theses, awards, etc. by UPF researchers whose updated curriculum vitae are available. The aims of the Scientific Output Portal are:
You can accede to the Portal by different ways:
1. This database allows you to make searches by:
- Researcher's name (for ex.: if you only know the second surname)
- Title of publication (for ex.: if we want to know how many articles the UPF researchers in a specific field have published in a specific journal)
- General keyword (for ex.: if we want to know the subjects in which the UPF is doing research into). You can also make an advanced search by keyword combining 2 or more words with the boolean elements (I, O, NO)
The results of the searches appear always arranged in chronological from the most recent to the older.
2. From the "Research and innovationn -- My CV" option, the application enables the researchers to generate their own CV in different formats (at the present time MEC, AQU and personalised CV). This is a protected option with user name and password (Campus Global). The resarcher must write an e-mail address and in 10 minuts, aproximately, he/she will receive a message with a RTF file with the CV requested. Recently, the CVN (Curriculum Vitae Normalizado) has been added to the list. This is a new CV format developed by the FECYT (Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología), in order to become a single, standardized format, fitting all areas of knowledge and that can be submitted to any call. Currently it can be used to stand for the competitive call announcements of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICINN). The aim of the FECYT is that CVN becomes the standard format for any public agency (ANECA, AQUCatalunya, etc). The CVN is a standardized curriculum that incorporates the XML protocol (tagged format that allows data exchange). It is also multilingual and allows translation to co-official languages and English. At present, the CVN has the same content as the current format of MICINN and the objective is to fill it with more data, for example, the teaching experience. If you are interested, you can find out more at http://cvn.fecyt.es. The generation of the CVN can only be done from an application certified by the FECYT. In the case of UPF, it is the Scientific Output Portal. With the information already entered in Scientific Output Portal and from the same screen from which you currently request the CV (Global Campus> Research and innovation> Scientific Output> Generation of my CV) you can order the curriculum in the new CVN format. A few minutes after your request, you will receive an email including a PDF attachment with your CVN. You can review it and, if you want to add or modify data, you must send an email to produccio.cientifica@upf.edu so they can enter the necessary updates and after this you can rebuild your CVN.
3. References for journal articles, books and book chapters include a "Consult it" button allowing you to access the full text of the document in electronic format, provided if it is available. If you are unable to locate it, you will find a link to the catalogue so you can check whether it is available in hard copy. If the Library does not have the document in question, you can request it through the Interlibrary Loan Service. You can also export the bibliographic reference to the bibliographic manager RefWorks.
Example:

The UPF research staff can send their CV, the updated activitites o any suggestions or queries to the address produccio.cientifica@upf.edu. As soon as the information will be at the Scientific Output Portal, the researcher will be informed by e-mail.
